She Owns the Sun!

So apparently, this woman in Spain claimed the sun as her own.

According to Yahoo News,

"she now wants to slap a fee on everyone who uses the sun and give half of the proceeds to the Spanish government and 20 percent to the nation's pension fund.
She would dedicate another 10 percent to research, another 10 percent to ending world hunger -- and would keep the remaining 10 percent herself.
"It is time to start doing things the right way, if there is an idea for how to generate income and improve the economy and people's well-being, why not do it?" she asked"

You can read the full article here.

What a nutjob. And not to mention, this is totally a lawsuit waiting to happen. I mean, ok, you own the sun and you want to charge people for using it. Now what?

1. Fine then. since you own the sun, I don't want to use it anymore. So keep it away from me. What's that? You can't? Lawsuit!

2. That guy got skin cancer indirectly caused by the sun. Lawsuit!

3. Some kid decided to look at the sun directly through a telescope and burnt his eyes out. Lawsuit!

I can tell you a hundred other situations where this woman could probably be sued, down to her last Euro, but you get the drift right?

Sure she could charge all of us for using it, but she's probably gonna end up with even less money than she started out after all these people are done with her.

I'm gonna say it again. What a nutjob.

New Policy

Seriously. How can you claim someone is your bff and then at the same time spread total lies about them? and then YOU'RE talking about suing someone for embarassing you? Do you have ANY idea what we can do to YOU for your libelous claims, you big fat joke of a liar?

My husband has never IN HIS LIFE tasted even a drop of alcohol, and has absolutely never done drugs. Unlike you, he DOES NOT consider break ups to be the end of his life. Get that into your thick head, and I seriously hope you never, EVER contact us again. You can take that bff and those "M***** for life" claims you so proudly tote around and shove them up your ass.

And so, I have a new policy. Toxic people don't belong in my life. Not only did I delete and block you from any social networks I still had you on, you are also officially deleted and blocked from our lives.

You're exactly like them, so we'd appreciate it if you just cut the crap and the bad acting. Don't bother coming around acting like the mediator or the 'innocent party', because we see right through you. In short, buzz off.

Just another day at work

I think they let just anyone manage the phone at offices these days. You know how I regularly go to NotAlwaysRight? Well, here is a real-life, it happened to me, genuine, the customer IS right situation.

Lately, I've been in charge of applying for a grant for one of my company's sister companies. One of the terms of the grant is that the applicant has to provide 3 different quotations from 3 different suppliers for items which it wishes to purchse and claim. There I was, on my search, getting through (on the phone) to really nice people who even offered to get quotations for items they didn't sell, when I came across two such conversations:

Idiot: Hello?! (Bear in mind that good companies/receptionists always answer the phone with "Hello, (insert company name)" and the optional "(insert name) speaking. She obviously did none of these)

Me: Hi, my name is Azurin from ___________.

Idiot: Yes?

Me: My company is surveying some items, and we'd like quotations for them, I wonder if-

Idiot: HAH? SERVING?

Me: Surveying

Idiot: HAH?

Me:... LOOKING FOR. BUYING. We're looking for some items and-

Idiot: ITEMS?! WHAT ITEMS?!
(At this point, I'm thinking, "Wait, maybe I got the wrong number"

Me: This is ___________ right?

Idiot: Yes.

Me: You sell computer stuff right?

Idiot: Yes.

Me: Oookk. So here are the items I'm looking for. Do you have a Dell Server?

Idiot: Yes.

Me: Ok, do you supply Apple Computers?

Idiot: Yes.

Me: What about Adobe softwares?

Idiot: (in very bored tones) YYeeeesssssss.

Me: Okay, so can I get quotations for those items, please?

Idiot: (Without another word, transfers me on to someone else who was nicer, more accommodating and more knowledgable. Thank God)

Ugghh. What a moron. Seriously.

Needless to say, the other similar conversation went along those lines too. Seriously, if you're idiotic enough to not know that computer hardware/software YOUR company sells are considered ITEMS too, maybe you should go back to school. Better yet, maybe you should learn some friggin manners while you're at it.

Buruk Sangka

One fine evening, as my husband and I were on the way up to our new apartment, something amusing happened. Our apartment building has one lift that only goes down to the carpark and two other lifts which go up to the unit floors. As we got out of the car park lift, I saw this crotchety pakcik gad look at us. I've seen him many times before, giving us dirty looks everytime we passed. I just passed it off as some unfriendly, overworked (overworked ke kalau keje dia duduk tengok orang without even questioning if they belong there?) harrassed guard just passing the time. Little did I know how his well-empty-space-endowed, diabolical head worked. As we walked out of the lift, he took one look at us, reached for some kind of button and pressed it.

And right then and there, the sounds of someone melodiously reciting the Al-Quran reverberated through the usually pin-drop silent lobby, loud and clear for all to hear.

Puzzled, my husband and I looked at each other and I glanced at my watch, wondering if it was customary for the lobby to play Quranic verses before a certain solat time, but it was well after the Isyak call-for prayers. So I turned around, and looked at the guard. And he had the smuggest, most self-righteous look I had ever seen on a moron. The apartment lifts arrived and we got in. Throughout it ALL, he never lost that smug look.

And it dawned on me that, probably not getting to a very high level in school because the empty space in his head was SO big that his little brain could not keep up with the rest of the kindergarten kids, the idiot decided to come to the conclusion that we were probably an unmarried couple who needed to be taught a very strong religious lesson and get scared out of our sinful living.

My assumptions are backed up by some other circumstances:

1. The fact that the lobby speakers NEVER play anything. It's perfect silence, all the way. I have NEVER heard a song, a jingle or even elevator music coming out of them.

2. Once, my husband was coming up to our unit with a trolley full of things. Somehow, the trolley tipped over and everything on it dropped and scattered all across the lobby. Coincidentally, this same guard was on duty, and he completely ignored the fact that my husband was in trouble and needed help. I have no qualms to say that any other guard would have lent a hand.

3. The residence is mostly inhabited by expats who are looking for convenience and an affordable-ish place to stay. I think the management would rather take a neutral stance when it comes to religion, rather than risking offending anyone. So I highly doubt they would actually play the audio of Quran recitation at the lobby. Furthermore, refer to #1.

So in conclusion: Aku yang ter-buruk sangka dan terlebih paranoid ke, pakcik gad tu yang memang buruk sangka sekarang?

Tolong jawab, plis?

Lalalalalalala....

Half of my thesis got rejected and I have yet to do the other half since I've been swamped with other assignments. Does that mean that

a) My thesis is 0% complete; and
b) That I'm quite dead?

I think so lah.

*post orang dah nak dapat nervous break down.

I mentioned foul-weathered friends the other day. Now let's talk about fair-weathered ones. Kelakar kan? Manusia ni macam2 jenis ada. Most, though, come flocking because you've got things you can give them and leave when they no longer need those things/ when you no longer have the means to provide them.

I used to get lots of text messages from this one person.

Person: Zurin, ko buat apa?

Me: Takde pape. nape?

Person : Takde, aku ingat nak ajak g (insert destination)

Me: (ever willing to lepak with a friend) ok, boleh je. Aku free harini. Bila nak g?

Person: Jap g lah, aku mandi jap, pastu kita g. KO DAH SAMPAI KO MSG AKU EK?

Aku ni mati2 la ingat dia ikhlas nak ajak keluar. rupe2nya nak beli beg/barang makanan/baju/whatever. pastu dah. terus balik.

Or on the way home from sending,

Person: Zurin, ko lepas ni buat apa?

Me: Takde pape. (yes, I didn't have a life back then. I had just broken up with my ex-boyfriend and I wasn't inclined to go out that much)

Person: Aku ngan Ms X nak g (insert local shopping mall here). Jom arr..

or

Aku ingat nak mintak ko hantar gi (insert whatever)

isk. Back then, I didn't mind. Tak suka la berkira2 with friends, so I helped whenever I could, thinking this person really was a friend.

SKALI...

I stopped driving. All calls/text messages/invites stopped. Completely.

Tak tau la apa species orang dia ni kan, but I remember how she used to ask for all kinds of things, like notes and stuff, but when it came to favours I asked from her, it seemed SO difficult to do. Kalau tolong pon with muka masam and tak ikhlas sampai finally, I decided not to ask for help from her anymore since doing favours seemed really difficult from her compared to ASKING FOR THEM.

haih.

A very funny story...

I was talking to a friend of mine today and I found out that around the time that I was getting married, someone had gone up to this friend and asked him, "Kenapa Epol and Zurin nak kawen ek? Did something happen?" (implying that I was pregnant out of wedlock, to blurr people out there)
This friend, being one of our best friends, of course, got pissed off and replied negatively and a fight ensued because she was just SO convinced that SOMETHING had happened. Kelakar la.

Ni la, mentality typical melayu kan? Suka nak prasangka buruk kat orang.
FYI for anyone who ever thought that something fishy was going on, let me clarify:

I got married because I was (and still is) in love with a great person who loves me sincerely for who I am, bad or good.

Even though a small part of getting hitched was due to the fact that I spent a lot of time with him and in my religion, it is stated as so that if two people spend that much time with each other, it's better to get married if they have the means to support each other monetarily, mentally, spiritually and physically, I got married simply BECAUSE I WANTED TO.

So, retards, seeing that I've been married for 10 months and MIRACULOUSLY (since some people were apparently adamant about me being pregnant) no babies have popped up, I went through my practicum without any hitches and I did not have to take ANY time off to hide any aby bumps, I think you can conclude that no, I didn't get married to cover any misdeeds that I got myself into.

Also, before I hear people saying stuff like "Dia tu mandul ke, 10 bulan takde anak lagi?" I'd like to state that we CHOOSE not to have babies yet simply because we cannot afford to take care of one. We are neither physically, economically, or mentally prepared.

So before you judge me, please look in the mirror and improve yourself first. thank you.

BODOH.

I wanted to post something that happened recently tapi macam malas nak cerita panjang2.
The thing is, bila orang tak sedar diri and refuse to sedarkan diri, who am I to want to shake them until they wake up or at least tampar so that they get a shock of their lives kan? Tapi to me, kalau nak buat2 tak sedar2 camtu pon, cukupla sekadar susahkan diri sendiri and pihak lagi satu yang tak sedar diri jugak tu.
Janganla menyusahkan orang lain! Wake up and smell the crap you've been flinging around, PLSKTHXBAI.
